A Qing-dynasty blue-and-white vase with bat and longevity motifs from the Qianlong Emperor's reign (1736-1795) on display at the Beijing Art Museum in Wanshou Temple, June 19, 2025. Both sides of the vase feature peach-shaped panels filled with nine longevity peaches and five flying bats, three of which hold ribbons and auspicious characters. Lotus flowers with the character "shou" (longevity) bloom across the surface. The design expresses the traditional Chinese blessing "wufu pengshou" — meaning, "five fortunes bringing a long life."
