To promote Chinese learning around the world, CIIC created a program called “Global Chinese” in seven languages—German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Arabic, Russian and Korean. The program uses comics and videos to make learning more entertaining and enlightening.

The program’s mascot “Han Si,” which is transformed from the Chinese character “漢” (han), plays different roles in various dialogues and helps foreigners understand the Chinese language and its culture better. To greet the Shanghai Expo, a special program called “100 Chinese Sentences on Shanghai Expo” was rolled out. Targeted readers praised it and commented that it was “timely, practical, fun and good looking.”
