Exhibition Marks 60th Anniversary of Anti-Fascist War
Adjust font size:

An exhibition opened in Beijing Thursday to mark the 60th anniversary of the world's Anti-Fascist War and China's Anti-Japanese War.

The opening ceremony was held in Beijing's Anti-Japanese War Memorial, which is located beside the Marco Polo Bridge, where Japan started its all-round invasion over China on July 7, 1937.

Sixty signal lights were shot into the sky as a tribute to veterans in China's Anti-Japanese War and 3,000 pigeons flew high to remind people to remember the history and work for China's prosperity and world peace.

Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, urged at the ceremony that the public should cherish peace and make new contributions to China's rejuvenation.

He said China's Anti-Japanese War is a major part of the world's Anti-Fascist War and China is the main battlefield in the east hemisphere.
