All revenue from the Sky and Heaven performance at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on May 3 will be donated to earthquake-hit areas in Yushu, said Xining Music and Dance Troupe leader Wu Sheng.

The organizers of Sky and Heaven are now working with a charity fund to rearrange the program. "We will add a charity song before the dance begins to call the audience to donate for Yushu," Wu said.

The show's sponsors – the Xining government, Xining Culture, Broadcast and TV Bureau and Xining Tourism Bureau – began promoting the show in Beijing on April 12. Shortly after the earthquake last Wednesday, they decided to change its campaign to a fundraising event.

The dance tells the life story of Je Tsongkhapa, a religious teacher who founded the Gelug school of Buddhism. Starting with his unusual birth, the performance follows Tsongkhapa, whose name means "man from onion valley," as he leaves behind his mother to find Buddhism until the two are reunited in heaven.
