"Black Swan," one of the favorites vying for best picture Oscar, walked away as the top winner from the 26th Independent Spirit Awards ceremony held Saturday in Santa Monica, California, grossing four honors including the most coveted best feature.

Director of the ballet drama, Darren Aronofsky, heroine Natalie Portman and cinematographer Matthew Libatique also won for best director, best female lead and best cinematography respectively.

As one of Oscar's top frontrunners, "The King's Speech" won for best foreign film.

James Franco was recognized for best male lead for his portrayal of a climber in the gritty drama "127 Hours." He also got a nod for an Oscar at the 83rd Academy Awards ceremony to be held Sunday night at Kodak Theatre. He won for best supporting male for "Milk" at the Academy Awards in 2009.

Franco is co-hosting this year's Oscar Awards presentation with Anne Hathaway.

Dale Dickey, who stars in "Winter's Bone," garnered best supporting female. John Hawkes, who co-stars with Dickey and was nominated for an Oscar, was honored with best supporting male.

"Exit Through the Gift Shop," a teasing faux documentary about Englishman Banksy and his fellow street artists, walked away with best documentary.

"Restrepo," a war documentary chronicling the lives of a platoon of U.S.soldiers from their deployment in northeast Afghanistan to the time of their return back home, lost in the campaign for the category.
