Lu Chuan and Qin Lan

Chinese filmmaker and screenwriter Lu Chuan and actress Qin Lan were reported to separate this July. The showbiz couple began dating in 2009 when shooting "Nanking Nanking" (City of Life and Death). Lu, born in 1971, is hailed as a major new voice in Chinese cinema. He won the award for Achievement in Directing for the film at the Third Asia Pacific Screen Awards and the Best Director Award at Fourth Asian Film Awards.
