Zhang Qiyue, Chinese consul-general in New York, read out a letter from Dr. Henry Kissinger, who spoke highly of the significance of publishing "Xi Jinping: The Governance of China." "Will China's rise lead to peace, or will it lead to conflict? It must be the former. Under China's new leadership, under President Xi Jinping, there is an offer to us on the table – a new-model of relationship between major powers," he wrote.

Robert Lawrence Kuhn, a U.S. expert on China pointed out that the "Four Comprehensives" strategy mentioned in the book is an important policy for realizing the Chinese Dream and building a moderately prosperous society, and is also a concentrated embodiment of President Xi Jinping's philosophy on the governance of China.

At the symposium, Wu Shangzhi and CIPG Vice President Fang Zhenghui presented copies to guests. Huang Youyi and Cengage Learning Asia General Manager Roy Lee jointly announced the launch of the electronic version of the book. Xu Bu, president and editor-in-chief of Foreign Languages Press, the publisher of the book, hosted the symposium.

The symposium is a major event in BEA 2015 and an important book promotion activity for China, as Guest of Honor, with its largest ever pavilion at the expo, BEA President Steven Rosato said.

The symposium was jointly sponsored by the State Council Information Office of the People's Republic of China, SAPPRFT, China's Consulate General in New York and the China International Publishing Group (CIPG), and hosted by Foreign Languages Press.
