Adjust font size:

Experts from about 100 leading think tanks and organizations around the world are expected to discuss the prospects of global economic downturn and ways to facilitate the recovery of world economy in early July in Beijing, according to a non-governmental research firm Tuesday.

Wei Jianguo, secretary-general of the China Center for International Economic Exchanges, a non-governmental research and consulting organization, said Tuesday at a press conference in Beijing that around 200 representatives from major Chinese and foreign firms would also participate in the event, known as the Global Think Tank Summit.

The summit is scheduled to run July 3 to 4, said Wei, former deputy minister of China's Ministry of Commerce.

Experts will also discuss various governments' policies in response to financial crisis, ideas of building a new international financial order and impacts of the crisis on globalization and regional integration during the summit, he added.
