A fleet of 30 fishing vessels arrived at a fishing venue of Nansha Islands in the southern-most of China's territory under the escort of Chinese fishery administration vessels?on July 15, 2012, Xinhua News Agency reported.

The fleet left south China's Hainan Province on Thursday. After a 78-hour voyage, it arrived at the waters near the Yongshu Reef in South China Sea Sunday afternoon.

Among the fleet are a 3,000-tonne replenishment ship and 29 ships weighing more than 140 tonnes each, making the fishing fleet one of the largest in the province's history.

It will spend the next five to 10 days fishing near the Yongshu Reef.

China Yuzheng 310, a fishery administration patrol ship, has arrived at the area to protect the fishing activities.
