Key figures of China's central budget for 2011

China's central government plans to spend 5.436 trillion yuan (827.6 billion U.S. dollars) this year, a rise of 12.5 percent from last year, according to a 2011 budget draft submitted to the parliament Saturday for reviewing.

The central budget will give priority to agriculture and rural development, improving the people's well-being, developing social undertakings, advancing economic restructuring and deepening reform, said the report of the Ministry of Finance.

 

Followings are key figures for the proposed budget:

-- 458.883 billion yuan for spending on agriculture, forestry and water conservancy, an increase of 18.3 percent year on year;

-- 129.266 billion yuan for guaranteeing adequate housing, an increase of 14.8 percent;

-- 441.434 billion yuan for social security and employment, an increase of 16.6 percent;

-- 296.357 billion yuan for education, an increase of 16.3 percent;

-- 172.758 billion yuan for medical and health care, an increase of 16.3 percent;

-- 194.413 billion yuan for science and technology sector, an increase of 12.5 percent;

-- 159.185 billion yuan for energy conservation and environment protection, an increase of 10.3 percent;

-- 286.691 billion yuan for transportation and transport, an increase of 10.3 percent;

-- 583.591 billion yuan for national defense, an increase of 12.6 percent;

-- 161.732 billion yuan for public security, an increase of 9.6 percent.
