The government should make greater efforts on education for the children of migrant workers, said Li Dongsheng, a NPC deputy and the CEO of TCL Group, in an interview on March 5.

Migrant workers do not possess local household registers, which cause delays and difficulties in their children's education.

Li said it was his biggest concern at the moment and hopes the government can resolve the situation expeditiously.

Addressing the labor shortage that affects companies throughout China, Li said the TCL Group had struggled with a shortage during the Spring Festival, but it wasn't overly serious. He credits the competitive employment conditions, fair distribution system as well as the robust social security system of his organization for limiting labor shortage complications.

In recent years, the labor shortage has become a major issue for labor-intensive manufacturing companies, and after the Spring Festival each year, the problem seems to gets worse. Previously, it had been primarily eastern areas of the country that struggled with labor shortages, but it's now become a national problem as cities in the middle and west of the country also deal with a lack of able workers.
