BEIJING, June 26 (Xinhua) -- The 13th World Peace Forum (WPF), which is themed "Advancing Global Peace and Prosperity: Shared Responsibility, Benefit and Achievement," will be held in Beijing from July 2 to 4.
Over 60 guests from more than 30 foreign countries will address the forum this year, said Yang Bin, secretary-general of the forum, at a media briefing held on Thursday.
He added that of these speakers, 17 are foreign officials at ministerial level or above. Notably, half of the speakers are from countries of the Global South, which further underlines both the attractiveness and inclusivity of this forum.
The forum will consist of four plenary sessions, which will respectively focus on the international order and world peace, pan-securitization and the global security predicament, the role of the Global South in world peace and prosperity, and major power coordination and conflict resolution. The forum will also feature 18 panel discussions.
The WPF, co-hosted by Tsinghua University and the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, was inaugurated in 2012 to provide a platform of communication and exchange for strategists and think tanks worldwide. Enditem
