Police say a political adviser in Gunadong Province was killed after taking a bribe but not doing what he promised to do. However his wife does not believe the police version, the Guangzhou Daily reported.

Huang Zhaoluan, the principal of Lianjiang Middle School, was the vice chairman of the Lianjiang City's committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultation Conference, China's political advisory body.
The Zhanjiang Intermediate People's Court today started hearing the case.
Prosecutors said Chen Jun asked three men, Ruan Yuming, Li Zhongyan and Chen Pixing, to teach Huang a lesson because Huang did not do what he had promised after taking 20,000 yuan (US$2,927.24) from him.
Chen Jun had given the money in August asking Huang give a job to his teacher wife at Huang's middle school. Chen said he had waited too long.
On the morning of October 20, as Huang left his home, Li and Ruan stabbed him repeatedly and left him dead on his doorstep, escaping on a motorcycle driven by Chen Pixing.
After hiding at the home of another man surnamed Ruan, the three left Lianjiang with 4,300 yuan that Chen Jun gave them.
Four days later the four were caught and on January 21, Chen Jun was arrested in Guangdong's Zhuhai City.
Huang's wife is not convinced by the police version, however and denies that Huang had ever taken a bribe.
She said Chen Jun divorced his wife just days after the murder so why would he have bribed her husband to get her a job.
At any rate there was just three months from August when Huang was said to taken bribe until October when he was murdered. "Is this too long as Chen claims?" she asked.
