Airbus A380 touches down in Guangzhou
Adjust font size:

The world's largest airliner, the Airbus A380, landed at Guangzhou's Baiyun International Airport in south China's Guangdong province on Tuesday morning, kicking off its weeklong trip throughout the country.

After staying in Guangzhou for 29 hours, the jumbo airliner will visit Shanghai on Wednesday afternoon and then fly on to Beijing the next day.

Unlike its trial flight to China last year, Airbus will operate demonstration flights and showcase a fully-equipped and decorated A380. Some lucky Chinese passengers will have the chance to take a trial flight in the airplane, the report said.

The A380 is capable of carrying 519 passengers. In addition to its first-class, business-class and economy-class sections, there also are passenger reception areas, a bar and a lounge room on board the huge monster.

A report from Sina.com said that the air inside the passenger cabin is updated every three minutes and lighting can be adjusted based on the passenger's need.

To date, China Southern Airlines has ordered five A380s.
