Air passengers scuffle with security staff after delays
Adjust font size:

Passengers stranded at the airport in Kunming,?capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province, scuffled with security staff on Tuesday after their demands for information on new flights were not met.

According to a Xinhua reporter at the airport, three China Southern Airlines (CSA) flights -- two to Guiyang, one to Changsha -- were delayed on Monday evening by bad weather at their destinations, stranding more than 170 passengers.

However, passengers claimed that CSA didn't provide hotels or meals for them. CSA was not immediately available for comment.

Starting at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, the passengers started to gather at the terminal, demanding that CSA apologize and provide the exact times for the rescheduled flights.

It appears that only one CSA staff member was at the airport to help the passengers and was unable to satisfy their demands.
