As of 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the U.N. Refugee Agency had provided more than 150,000 tents to China's quake-hit regions, according to the Information Office of the State Council, China's cabinet.

On May 12, an 8.0-magnitude earthquake struck southwest China's Sichuan Province and affected many other parts of the country.

In Sichuan Province, the center of the quake, 5.36 million rooms were flattened and almost 21.43 million others damaged, leaving millions of people homeless. Huge quantities of tents are needed to accommodate them.

As of Thursday noon, 403,340 tents, 2,305,884 cotton-padded quilts and 3,052,000 garments had been delivered to the quake-stricken areas, according to the information office.

Also, the first shipments from the central grain reserve were en route to these regions including 152,400 tons of wheat and 231,600 tons of rice.
