Two hundred and two old bombs, left by the Japanese invaders during World War II, have been unearthed at a construction site in Huaiyang County, in central China's Henan Province.
The bombs include 72 gas bombs.
Records show that Japanese troops occupied the Huaiyang area between September 1938 and August 1945.
During this period, the Japanese aggressors killed 6,000 civilians and soldiers, and burned 3,000 houses in Huaiyang. They also disposed of lots of bombs, including gas bombs and chemical shells in the area, which have poisoned the underground water and a local lake.
