Jane Goodall in Beijing to Support Environmental Protection

Dr. Jane Goodall, an English scientist who is called "an Einstein in the field of Zoological Behaviorists", attended an activity held at the Education Center of Zoological Environmental Protection in Beijing Wednesday.

Nearly 100 domestic and overseas students attend the activity which was held with the purpose of encouraging teenagers to love nature, love animals and protect environment.

Goodall, a prominent figure in the international animal community, has worked in Africa studying behaviors of chimpanzees. She also founded the Roots and Shoots, an environment and humanitarian program for young people to promote environmental protection and conservation.

The Beijing Human and Environment Education Center, a non-profit and non-governmental organization, was founded to secure the protection of animals in Beijing. The center has so far rescued over 200 abandoned or abused small animals.
