China's Chery Company announced on Wednesday that as from March 15, the company will cut prices of some of its parts by 30.1 percent.
A total of 8,608 kinds of parts are involved in the price cuts, according to the company. It is another coup for Chery following the 20 percent cut of parts for its "Fengyun" series in 2003.
Insiders said Chery's high-profile price cuts of auto parts will have a great impact on the market, since few domestic manufacturers focus on parts, choosing instead to adjust the prices of cars amid fierce competition.
Chery will press on with the improvement of its after-sales service, said Wand Mo, a senior official with the company, noting that the measures include free overhauling of autos every quarter and launching of 800 cars for its after-sales service nationwide.
Chery attained its 2005 sales goal with 189,000 units sold. The company has now become China's sixth largest car maker. As one of China's leading domestic auto makers, the Anhui-based Chery has won recognition for its technological innovation.
