Foshan fireworks blaze put out after 30 hours
Adjust font size:

A fireworks blaze in Foshan City, Guangdong Province, has been extinguished after it burned for more than 30 hours yesterday and today, Xinhua news agency reported.

The fire was put out about 8:30 AM at the 20 warehouses of Yuetong Warehouse and Transportation Company, where more than 15,000 cartons of fireworks were stored, the report said.

The blaze began in the company's No. 7 warehouse and ignited fireworks in other warehouses.

No casualties were reported in the fire, the report said.

Officials from the State Administration of Work Safety will arrive at the scene today to hold a meeting on the accident.

Police have detained the managers of the warehouses and questioned four security guards on duty when the accident occurred about 3:30 AM yesterday in Foshan's Sanshui District, the report said.

According to a Foshan Daily report, the company is a legal warehouse with safety certificates.
