Precious Art Works Set for Auction in Tianjin
More than 1,000 pieces of rare and precious art works will be put on auction in Tianjin, a major port city in north China, on June 27.

The art works come from as far afield as Japan and Hong Kong. They include chinaware from the Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties, calligraphy and paintings by celebrities, and jewelry, according to the auction organizers, Tianjin International Auctions Co. Ltd.

Among the art works are A Self Portrait of Wuzhun, which is offered by a Japanese collector and features the eminent monk Wuzhun from the Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), a square jade vase belonging to Qianlong Rein of the Qing Dynasty, as well as paintings by Zhang Daqian, Lin Fengmian, Liu Kuiling and Fu Baoshi.

The portrait of Wuzhun is expected to fetch between 700,000 and one million yuan, and the square jade vase between 1.7 million and 2 million yuan, the auction company says.
