Spring Festival a Hard Time for Chinese?

Spring Festival has always been the most important festival in China, but in recent years, it's more and more considered a hard time for people.

China Youth Daily reports that during the Spring Festival, many people are obligated to things they are not always willing to do.

In accordance with tradition, people have to pay visits to a number of relatives, eat and spend time with them, even if they don't necessarily wish.

For tens of million people in China, the festival also means they have to spend a lot of effort and money to travel long journeys back to their hometowns, sometimes only to stay for two or three days!

A recent survey shows that the majority of people regard the Spring Festival more as a symbol of Chinese culture rather than a sincere occasion for happiness. Experts say Chinese people should find a better way to celebrate this ancient festival.
