Every Dog Has Its Day

The 2003 Dogs' Competition runs from September 6 to 7 in the Shanghai Agricultural Exhibition Centre.

It will be the first nationwide judging competition for dogs attended by experts and delegates from various overseas dog associations.

The canine participants range from Chinese Jingba to German Shepherds.

Besides the canines being judged, beauticians for dogs will also show off their talents. The champion beautician will receive 8,000 yuan (US$966) and a trophy. Second prize is 5,000 yuan (US$603) and a trophy and third, 3,000 yuan (US$362) and a trophy.

Other qualified beauticians will receive a C-Level Beautician's Licence acknowledged worldwide and a commemorative medal.

Pet owners interested in the competition, are invited to bring along their dogs to have a try. Winners may receive up to 10,000 yuan (US$1,207).
