China Starts Anti-dumping Investigation over Toluene Diisocyanate
China will start an investigation into the dumping of toluene diisocyanate (TDI80/20) from the United States, Japan and the Republic of Korea.

The move will be announced on Wednesday by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC) and become effective the same day, according to MOFTEC sources.

The investigation relates to imported toluene diisocyanate listed under "2929.1010" in the tariffs of the General Administration of Chinese Customs.

MOFTEC on Wednesday will launch an investigation and decide whether dumping took place and if so, to what extent in keeping with China's regulations on anti-dumping.

In the meantime, the State Economic and Trade Commission will investigate any damage done to China's industries by the alleged dumping.

The investigation, which would normally last a year, will be extended to 18 months under special conditions.
