Miaogao Dagoba near Beijing
Located on top of a small hill to the north of Jade Spring Hill is a dagoba in vajrasana style. The lower part of the brick dagoba is a square platform on which five dagobas stand. The one in the middle is much larger than the other four at the corners. The large dagoba in the middle is typical of the Lamaist style, while the four small ones are round and narrow without ornamental patterns. All five dagobas have cone-shaped steeples decorated with wheel like ornaments.

This group of five dagobas, built during the reign of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty, was originally inside a temple called Miaogao, which was destroyed long ago. On nearby hills there are other Buddhist sites and buildings, such as Lanka Cave, Hanjing Hall and a place called the Western Paradise, where Buddhist rites were performed. The sculptures at these spots represent the most exquisite artistic craftsmanship of the Qing Dynasty.
