Safeguarding the Core Interests of China

China's commitment to peaceful development and mutually beneficial cooperation is underpinned by its determination to safeguard its national core interests. These interests include state sovereignty, national security, territorial integrity, national reunification, stability of its political system established by the Constitution and overall social stability, and the need to ensure sustainable economic and social development.

At a meeting of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in January 2013, General Secretary Xi Jinping reaffirmed China's commitment to peaceful development. This commitment is however premised on the absence of any encroachment upon our national core interests, he added. We will never give up our legitimate rights and interests. No foreign country should harbor the illusion that we would trade our core interests, or allow harm to be done to our sovereignty, security or development.

維護(hù)國(guó)家核心利益

中國(guó)走和平發(fā)展道路、倡導(dǎo)合作共贏是以堅(jiān)決維護(hù)國(guó)家核心利益為底線的。中國(guó)的核心利益包括：國(guó)家主權(quán)，國(guó)家安全，領(lǐng)土完整，國(guó)家統(tǒng)一，中國(guó)憲法確立的國(guó)家政治制度和社會(huì)大局穩(wěn)定，經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)可持續(xù)發(fā)展的基本保障。習(xí)近平總書記指出：“我們要堅(jiān)持走和平發(fā)展道路，但決不能放棄我們的正當(dāng)權(quán)益，決不能犧牲國(guó)家核心利益。任何外國(guó)不要指望我們會(huì)拿自己的核心利益做交易，不要指望我們會(huì)吞下?lián)p害中國(guó)主權(quán)、安全、發(fā)展利益的苦果。”
