The spirit of the Beijing Olympics

In August 2008, more than 10,000 athletes from 204 countries and regions competed in the Olympic arenas in Beijing. Many of them won the first Olympic gold or other medals for their countries or regions. Addressing the closing ceremony, Jacques Rogge, then president of International Olympic Committee, hailed the event as “truly exceptional games.”

In preparing for and hosting the games, the spirit of Beijing Olympics was formed, characterized by solidarity, friendship, love of peace, self-reliance, patriotism, diligence, tenacity, self-respect, confidence, transcending the self, and fair play. Originating from the Olympic spirit, this Beijing spirit was followed in the whole course of the effort to provide the world with “green Olympics, high-tech Olympics and people’s Olympics,” and was best manifested in the theme of the event – “One World, One Dream.”

北京奧運(yùn)精神

2008年8月，來(lái)自204個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)的1萬(wàn)余名運(yùn)動(dòng)員在北京舉辦的第29屆夏季奧運(yùn)會(huì)上挑戰(zhàn)極限、攀越新高，多個(gè)國(guó)家和地區(qū)實(shí)現(xiàn)了奧運(yùn)會(huì)金牌和獎(jiǎng)牌零的突破，描繪了團(tuán)結(jié)、友誼、和平的壯麗畫(huà)卷。時(shí)任國(guó)際奧委會(huì)主席雅克·羅格在北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)閉幕式致辭中表示，“這是一屆真正的無(wú)與倫比的奧運(yùn)會(huì)”。

在這次奧運(yùn)會(huì)籌辦及舉行過(guò)程中，逐步形成了北京奧運(yùn)精神，其內(nèi)涵包括“團(tuán)結(jié)友好、愛(ài)好和平、自強(qiáng)不息、愛(ài)國(guó)主義、勤勞勇敢、頑強(qiáng)拼搏、自尊自信、超越自我、公平競(jìng)爭(zhēng)、和平友誼、文明友愛(ài)”等精神。北京奧運(yùn)精神植根于奧林匹克精神，濃縮蘊(yùn)含在北京奧運(yùn)會(huì)提出的“綠色奧運(yùn)、科技奧運(yùn)、人文奧運(yùn)”三大理念以及主題口號(hào)“同一個(gè)世界 同一個(gè)夢(mèng)想”中，彰顯在中國(guó)體育文化傳承過(guò)程中，貫穿于場(chǎng)館建設(shè)、賽事服務(wù)、安全保障等各項(xiàng)工作，展現(xiàn)了中國(guó)人一諾千金的民族品格。
