The Shanghai Spirit

On June 15, 2001, China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan announced the establishment of a permanent inter-governmental international organization: the Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In the course of their cooperation, these six member countries have developed a spirit, known as the “Shanghai Spirit,” which features mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, consultation, respect for cultural diversity, and pursuit of common development. This is a valuable cultural resource created by the countries concerned, which embodies the common wish of their peoples for peace and development.

上海精神

2001年6月,中俄哈吉塔烏等六國(guó)在上海宣布成立永久性政府間國(guó)際組織——上海合作組織。在成員國(guó)相互協(xié)作過(guò)程中逐步形成了以“互信、互利、平等、協(xié)商、尊重多樣文明、謀求聯(lián)合發(fā)展”為基本內(nèi)容的“上海精神”,成為本地區(qū)國(guó)家積累的寶貴精神財(cái)富。多年來(lái),上海合作組織保持強(qiáng)勁發(fā)展勢(shì)頭,成為促進(jìn)地區(qū)安全穩(wěn)定和發(fā)展繁榮的重要建設(shè)性力量,根本原因在于始終遵循“上海精神”、不斷加強(qiáng)團(tuán)結(jié)互信?！吧虾＞瘛北磉_(dá)了各成員國(guó)人民的共同愿望,順應(yīng)了和平與發(fā)展的時(shí)代主流,已成為上海合作組織的核心價(jià)值。
