共同富裕

馬克思提出，在新的社會(huì)制度中“社會(huì)生產(chǎn)力的發(fā)展將如此迅速”，“生產(chǎn)將以所有的人富裕為目的”。恩格斯在描述社會(huì)主義時(shí)也指出，“我們的目的是要建立社會(huì)主義制度，這種制度將給所有的人提供健康而有益的工作，給所有的人提供充裕的物質(zhì)生活和閑暇時(shí)間，給所有的人提供真正的充分的自由”。

中國(guó)共產(chǎn)黨自誕生之日起，就以消除貧困、改善民生、實(shí)現(xiàn)共同富裕為使命，謀求通過(guò)建立社會(huì)主義制度而從根本上消滅貧困問(wèn)題。鄧小平在不同場(chǎng)合多次提及共同富裕，他指出，社會(huì)主義與資本主義不同的特點(diǎn)就是共同富裕，不搞兩極分化。在改革中，我們始終堅(jiān)持兩條根本原則，一是以社會(huì)主義公有制經(jīng)濟(jì)為主體，一是共同富裕。走社會(huì)主義道路，就是要逐步實(shí)現(xiàn)共同富裕。共同致富，我們從改革一開始就講，將來(lái)總有一天要成為中心課題。社會(huì)主義不是少數(shù)人富起來(lái)、大多數(shù)人窮，不是那個(gè)樣子。社會(huì)主義最大的優(yōu)越性就是共同富裕，這是體現(xiàn)社會(huì)主義本質(zhì)的一個(gè)東西。

對(duì)于堅(jiān)持共同富裕這一社會(huì)主義理想，習(xí)近平明確指出：“共同富裕是中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義的根本原則，所以必須使發(fā)展成果更多更公平惠及全體人民，朝著共同富裕方向穩(wěn)定前進(jìn)?！泵撠毠?jiān)戰(zhàn)正是實(shí)現(xiàn)這一理想的必由之路。只有補(bǔ)齊了經(jīng)濟(jì)社會(huì)發(fā)展的“短板”，中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義事業(yè)才能一往無(wú)前，共同富裕的理想目標(biāo)才能最終實(shí)現(xiàn)。

Common Prosperity

In describing his prediction of a new social system [of socialism], Karl Marx said that the development of the social productive forces would grow so rapidly and that production would be calculated for the wealth of all. In the words of Frederick Engels, "Our aim is to bring about a Socialist System which will give healthy and useful labor to all, ample wealth and leisure to all, and the truest and fullest freedom to all."

From its very beginning, the CPC has taken eliminating poverty, improving wellbeing and achieving common prosperity as its mission, and worked to end poverty fundamentally through development of socialism. Deng Xiaoping had more than once talked about common prosperity:

"One of the features distinguishing socialism from capitalism is that socialism means common prosperity, not polarization of income...."

"In the reform we have consistently followed two fundamental principles. One is the predominance of the socialist public sector of the economy; the other is common prosperity…."

"To take the road to socialism is to realize common prosperity step by step...."

"Since the very beginning of the reform we have been emphasizing the need for seeking common prosperity; that will surely be the central issue someday. Socialism does not mean allowing a few people to grow rich while the overwhelming majority live in poverty. No, that's not socialism. The greatest superiority of socialism is that it enables all the people to prosper, and common prosperity is the essence of socialism."

Regarding the socialist goal of common prosperity, Xi Jinping pointed out, "Common prosperity is the fundamental principle of Chinese socialism - this is why we must ensure that all the people share the fruits of development in a fair way, and move steadily toward common prosperity." The battle against poverty is a pathway toward this goal.
