Exhibit on Japan's 1931 Invasion Moves from US to China
Following its tour of several major cities in the United States, an exhibit entitled "Crimes of Japan's Invasion of China" will begin a nationwide tour of China in mid-May. The exhibit features 500 pictures and 1,000 documents on the September 18, 1931 incident that resulted in Japanese militarists' massive invasion in northeastern China, and later the whole country in 1937.

The exhibit allows visitors to review the historical background of the September 18 Incident, Japan's bloody reign in northeast China, northeastern Chinese people's resistance in the War against Japanese Aggression, the movement of resisting Japanese invaders for national salvation as well as the final fate of the Japanese invaders.

It is reported that the United States tour drew wide attention, and photographs related to people's reactions in the US will be included in this exhibition as well as current and earlier pictures of some heroes of the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression.

A featured document in the exhibit is a Japanese battle map that shows Japan's schedule in the invasion of Shenyang on September 18, 1931 as a prelude to the invasion of three provinces of northeastern China.

Free and open to the public, the exhibition is co-organized by the September 18 War Research Society of Liaoning Province and the Shenyang-based Chinese Communist Party Manchuria Provincial Committee (1927-1931) Exhibition Hall. Yingkou City of Liaoning Province will be the first stop of this exhibition tour. The exhibition is scheduled to continue for one year before going on tour in the Republic of Korea and again in the United States in 2003.
