Matchmaking agencies in Jinan, Shandong Province, say they are being overwhelmed by applications from women under the age of 20.
Usually agencies receive calls from middle-aged divorcees rather than young people, but in recent months several have become deluged with phone calls from young migrant women.
These young women are seeking wealthy husbands, or relationships that can improve their careers.
While good news for single men in the city, it is bad news for middle-aged female romance seekers.
