China, Cameroon Vow to Strengthen Trade Ties

Chinese and Cameroonian officials agreed Tuesday that they will work actively to further promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation.

Addressing the 6th meeting of the Sino-Cameroon Mixed Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation, Cameroonian Foreign Minister Laurent Esso spoke highly of the friendship between the two countries, noting China is the African country's best partner for cooperation.

During the two-day meeting, which was also attended by some 500 officials and businessmen, the two sides reviewed the development of bilateral trade and economic cooperation, and exchanged ideas on exploring new ways to boost the two-way trade and cooperation.

Cameroon and China share similar views not only on bilateral relations but also on international issues, said Esso.

He highlighted China's extensive assistance to Cameroon, saying the two countries have great potentialities in trade and economic cooperation.

The two-day meeting will eventually boost the bilateral trade and economic cooperation, he said.

Vice Commerce Minister Wei Jianguo, who leads the Chinese delegation, presented a five-point proposal to promote cooperation with Cameroon, noting China will continue to offer as much assistance to Cameroon as it can.
