Chinese, Indonesian Vice Presidents Pledge Stronger Ties
Adjust font size:

China and Indonesia on Thursday pledged to develop a stronger strategic partnership.

"Hopefully, China and Indonesia will put forward an action plan on their strategic partnership at an early date," Vice President Zeng Qinghong said in talks with his Indonesian counterpart Yusuf Kalla Thursday afternoon.

During their hour-long talks in the Great Hall of People, Zeng proposed that the two countries make joint efforts to upgrade trade cooperation, carry forward important cooperation projects and seek common benefit.

Zeng called on the two countries to work more closely on infrastructure construction, oceanic fishery and health care.

While hailing the sound momentum of Indonesia-China ties, Kalla noted that bilateral energy cooperation has been particularly fruitful amid soaring trade and investment.

Kalla said Indonesia would like to learn from China's experience on developing agriculture, water conservancy and education.

Indonesia will, as always, support the one-China policy, he said.

Earlier Thursday, top legislator Wu Bangguo also met with Kalla.

The five-day tour will also take Kalla to southwest China's Sichuan Province and central China's Hubei Province.
