China Seeks Long-term Cooperation with Mongolia

China is willing to carry out long-term and stable cooperation with Mongolia in the fields of resources development and infrastructure construction, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said in Beijing Wednesday.

Wen said China places great importance on mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation with Mongolia. He made the remarks during a meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Nambaryn Enkhbayar who stopped over in Beijing during an overseas trip.

Wen said China and Mongolia have decided to establish a partnership of mutual trust, which is of great significance to the development of bilateral relations in the new century.

Noting that Mongolia is an important neighbor of China, Wen said the new leadership of China will continue to enhance mutual trust, deepen cooperation and seek common development with Mongolia. He said China will stick to the guideline of treating its neighbors as friends and partners and uphold the policy of building friendship, peace and prosperity with its neighbors.

Enkhbayar said he was delighted to establish a personal friendship with Premier Wen. He said since Chinese President Hu Jintao visited Mongolia last year, the two countries have continuously expanded their partnership of mutual trust and achieved new results in economic cooperation. He said the Mongolian side is satisfied with the progress of bilateral relations.

Enkhbayar said Mongolia has always valued its relationship with China. He thanked China for its assistance to Mongolia over the years. He emphasized that the Mongolian government firmly supports China's stance on the Taiwan issue.
