Russia Says Six-Party Talks to End as Scheduled
Adjust font size:

Chief Russian negotiator to the six-party talks Alexander Losyukov Wednesday said that this round of six-party talks on Korean Peninsula nuclear issue will conclude as scheduled.

Losyukov said he has not been informed of any progress of the talks up to now and he will return to Moscow on Thursday.

Chinese chief negotiator and Vice Foreign Minister Wu Dawei said earlier that the six-round of talks would last for three days.

North Korea insisted that resolving the BDA (Banco Delta Asia) frozen fund issue is a prerequisite for starting other negotiations, and Tuesday's chief negotiators' meeting was thus cancelled, Losyukov said.

Chief US negotiator Christopher Hill said on Tuesday night that the current pace of the six-party talks was slow but he was confident that the BDA issue would be resolved.
