The 2005 Northeast Asia Hi-tech Fair opened Tuesday in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province.
The fair has attracted officials and experts from northeast Asian countries including Russia, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Japan and Mongolia.
The five-day activity is jointly sponsored by China's Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, State Council's Office of the Leading Group for Revitalizing Northeast China and Other Old Industrial Bases, Chinese Academy of Sciences and China Association for Science and Technology.
The fair is another national-level exhibition of science and technology following the Shenzhen China Hi-tech Fair, the China Beijing International Hi-tech Expo, the Shanghai International Industry Fair and the China Yangling Agricultural Hi-tech Fair in Shaanxi Province, said Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili at the opening ceremony.
Various activities will be held during the fair, including forums on investment projects, such as the Northeast Asia Technology Development Summit Forum, Northeast Asia Economic Forum, Forum of Revitalizing Northeast China, Forum of Sino-Russian Technology Cooperation.
