Global Space Scientists to Meet in Beijing in July

Global space scientists are expected to discuss latest discoveries made on Mars this July in Beijing.

The 36th Assembly of the Committee on Space Research (COSPAR), which is scheduled from July 16 to 23, will give more than 1,800 scientists the opportunity to exchange views. Professor Christophe Sotin from France will exhibit new findings on water and organic matter from the planet.

Gu Yidong, member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), will elaborate on the Chinese manned space utility project.

The organizers, the CAS Center for Space Science, will arrange round-table meetings and lectures, some of which will be open to the public and will include presentations of Chinese astronauts and the Chinese moon exploration project.

The COSPAR organizes assemblies every two years to discuss the latest development in space science and technology.
