Top legislator stresses parliament role in development
Adjust font size:

The parliament is to center its work on ensuring sound progress in China's reform, development and stability, top legislator Wu Bangguo said Monday.

"We should improve our working style" and efforts should be made to step up inspection on law enforcement and supervision on work, he said in a panel discussion with lawmakers from northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC), also underscored importance on lawmakers' in-depth investigation to offer insights in a bid to boost the country's further development.

The 11th NPC started its second full session on Thursday, and it will last eight and half days.
