Bush leaves for Asian tour
Adjust font size:

U.S. President George W. Bush on Monday kicked off his trip to Asia where he is to visit South Korea, Thailand before attending the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony in China.

It was believed that Bush's tour of China will be the most important in his forthcoming visit to Asia. Bush said last week that the U.S.-China relations are good and important, and that he was honored to be invited to attend the Beijing Olympics.

"It's an opportunity for our two countries, who've got a interesting relationship, to be able to work through common problems and to seize common opportunities," he told reporters from China, South Korea and Thailand at the White House ahead of his Asian trip.

Bush is set to arrive in Seoul, South Korea on Tuesday and leave Thailand on Wednesday.
