Chinese top legislator Wu Bangguo met?in Beijing on?Wednesday with visiting Mongolian Parliament Chairman Damdin Demberel.

"I hope the two parliaments will continue further cooperation and exchanges at various levels in an aim to inject new vigor to the development of the bilateral relations," said Wu, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC).

Wu also highlighted the recent growth of bilateral ties, noting the two nations have maintained good communication and coordination on international issues.

"China values its relations with Mongolia, and the development of the ties between the two not only serve the interests of the two peoples, but also is conducive to the peace and development in the region," Wu said.

He proposed the two sides join hands to intensify cooperation in fields such as trade, energy, and natural resources.

Demberel, chairman of the State Great Hural of Mongolia, agreed with Wu's views on bilateral relations. He said Mongolia expects to cement cooperation with China in areas such as trade, humanity and environment.

It will continue to adhere to the one-China policy. Mongolia will always uphold the view that Taiwan and Tibet are inalienable parts of China, Demberel reiterated.

At the invitation of Wu, Demberel kicked off his first China visit on Wednesday since taking office earlier this year. After his stay, he will travel to Laos.
