Adjust font size:

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari left southern Chinese province of Guangdong Tuesday, concluding a five-day visit to China.

During his three-day stay in Guangdong, Zardari met with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi, and called upon the two countries to enhance cooperation in areas such as agriculture, transportation, irrigation and infrastructure.

Zardari also attended a forum on Pakistan-Guangdong trade and investment cooperation.

At the forum, the Pakistan Investment Committee and the Guangdong Council for the Promotion of International Trade signed a memorandum for cooperation, which aims to enhance communication in relevant areas.

In Guangdong, Zardari also visited the South China Agricultural University, two research institutes and a Guangzhou economic development zone.

Previously, Zardari had visited east Zhejiang Province, where he encouraged Chinese companies to invest in Pakistan. While he was there the two countries' departments of public health and investment promotion also signed memoranda of understanding on greater cooperation.

Zardari began his visit on Aug. 21 as a guest of the Chinese government. It was his fourth visit to China since taking office last September.
