Although CCTV's annual Spring Festival gala attracts a huge television audience, China's largest TV station is reaching out through the web to attract those netizens that may not be glued to the TV.

Singers that were chosen from an Internet based contest are now in rehearsals for their debut at the upcoming gala. The CCTV Net Gala will delight netizens from the first day till the sixth day of the first Lunar month. The first night gala will be simultaneously broadcast live on CCTV 3 and the station's portal website CNTV.
