Shorter NBA schedule has 42 back-to-back-to-backs

All NBA teams will have to play games for three consecutive nights at least once this season according to the compacted 66-game schedule released by conference authorities Tuesday night, AP reported.

The demanding schedule, to start on Christmas Day, will push teams to shoot more hoops in fewer days than ever before, with trying stretches such as nine games in 12 nights for Atlanta starting Dec. 27.

Teams will play 48 conference games and 18 against the opposing conference.
