Chinese sportswear maker Qiaodan released a statement defending their brand, saying on Thursday that they have exclusive right over the registered trademark, and is protected by Chinese laws, Xinhua reported.

Earlier, NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan sued the company over unauthorized use of "Qiaodan," his name in Chinese pinyin. Jordan accused the Fujian-based company of deliberately misleading Chinese consumers about his ties to the brand.

Chinese law experts are cautioning that the company's use of "Qiaodan" lacks creativity, and Jordan's accusations will negatively impact the company's long-term development.

據(jù)新華社報道，我國體育用品廠商喬丹（Qiaodan）日前發(fā)布聲明捍衛(wèi)自己的品牌。喬丹公司周四表示，他們對注冊商標擁有專屬權利，受到中國法律保護。

較早時候，NBA名人堂球員喬丹起訴該公司在未被授權的情況下，使用了自己的漢語名拼音“Qiaodan”作為品牌。喬丹起訴這家福建公司蓄意聯(lián)系自己的姓名，誤導消費者。

國內(nèi)的法律專家提醒，公司使用“Qiaodan”作為品牌其實缺乏創(chuàng)意，另外球員喬丹的指控也不利于公司的長遠發(fā)展。
