North Korea has agreed to suspend uranium enrichment, as well as nuclear and long-range missile tests, following talks with the US, BBC reported.

The US State Department said Pyongyang had also agreed to allow UN inspectors to monitor its reactor in Yongbyon to verify compliance with the measures. In return, the US is providing 240,000 tons of food aid for the North.

Correspondents say the move could pave the way for the resumption of six-party disarmament negotiations with Pyongyang.

據(jù)英國廣播公司報道，經(jīng)朝美會談，朝鮮同意暫停鈾濃縮以及核彈和遠程導(dǎo)彈試射活動。

美國國務(wù)院表示，平壤方面已經(jīng)同意聯(lián)合國核查人員對其寧邊核反應(yīng)堆進行檢查和監(jiān)督。而美方則敲定了向朝鮮援助24萬噸食品的計劃。

記者稱，此舉為重啟朝鮮去核化六方會談奠定了基礎(chǔ)。
