Hunan University's Nutrition and Food Security Center has rebuffed a test report on foreign milk formula, saying the results were invalid, Xiaoxiang Morning Post reported.

A brand credit investigation center earlier launched a report claiming that Mead Johnson, Abbott, Wyeth and other foreign infant formula (Stage 1 products) contained vanillin, a banned addictive in China.

All milk formula producers involved in the report promptly denied the allegation and questioned the agency's qualification to conduct the test.

Changsha's business administration department said it would launch further investigation into the incident.
