Dutch beach volleyball pair Reinder Nummerdor/Richard Schuil defeated their Swiss rivals Martin Laciga/Jan Schnider 21-14, 21-15?in Group E on Saturday.
The 2.02-meter Schuil was a three-time volleyball Olympian. He won the gold medal at 1996 Atlanta Games.
The Dutch pair is the top seed in Group E.
