3 Americans, 3 Jamaicans to show down in women's 100m finals
Adjust font size:

American and Jamaican sprinters will dominate the women's 100m final on Sunday evening at the Beijing Olympic Games.

One Jamaican favorite for the women's dash title Shelly-Ann Fraser led all the eight finalists in 11.00 seconds.

Torri Edwards, the biggest hope of the United States for the sprint title, was the third worst performer, due to her slow start with a reaction time of 0.174 second, into the finals.

Muna Lee and Lauryn Williams, both of the United States, as well as Kerron Stewart and Sherone Simpson, both from Jamaica, are expected to compete for the medals.

The rest two final slots are occupied by Jeanette Kwakye of Britain and Debbie Ferguson-McKenzie of Bahamas.
