Britons secure sixth gold in cycling track

British Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny beat their respective opponents in the semifinals of men's sprint to make the final a British derby on Tuesday.

In the semifinal between Mickael Bourgain from France and Chris Hoy, who has clinched the gold in men's keirin and led the British team to win the men's team sprint champion at the Beijing Olympics, the 32-year-old Briton won two convincing races at 10.260 and 10.358 for the last 200-meter sprint.

While his teammate Jason Kenny also booked a berth in the final by defeating Maximilian Levy from Germany in two races at 10.594 and 10.335 for the last 200-meter sprint.

The Laoshan Velodrome has witnessed Britons launching a gold rush in the previous competitions in cycling track by bagging five out of seven golds.
