Great Britain's John Stubbs, who competed in the Men's Individual Compound - Open category, scored an impressive 691 points, breaking the world record of 679 points, which was set by Joe Bailey of the United States in June 2007.

Another British archer, Danielle Brown, who competed in the Women's Individual Compound - Open event, scored 676 points, breaking her own world record of 673 points, which she set just two months ago at a competition in Stoke Mandeville, England.

Lee Hwa-sook of the Republic of Korea broke the world record in the Women's Individual Recurve - Standing category, scoring 614 points. The earlier record of 603 belonged to Wang Yanhong of China and Lindsey Carmichael of the United States.

Performing in front of her home crowd, China's Xiao Yanhong broke the world record in the Women's Individual Recurve - W1/W2 category, scoring 611 points. The earlier record of 601 points belonged Ko Hee-sook, also of the Republic of Korea, which she set in September 2004.
